Are insurance companies to blame, paying multimillion-dollar salaries to their CEOs? Are patients to blame, taken in by unreasonable expectations and by deceptive advertising from plaintiff attorneys, who see malpractice suits as a way to gain a nice jackpot? Or are doctors themselves to blame, either because they harm patients through negligance or because one doctor is willing to testify against another doctor for financial gain? Or is no-one to blame but the system itself?
